The CIF Cross Country season is quickly approaching, and it's time to start counting down the days until the most competitive high school XC state begins racing. Before we dive deep into the teams and athletes' stories, let's take a look back at the biggest stage: the 2024 CIF State XC Championships.
Below, view the top 500 girls who are returning from the state championship and are set to lead storylines this fall.
The top returning girl, Chiara Dailey, also had the overall fastest time of the State Championship last season at 16:44.40. She will be looking to close out a historic cross country career this fall by capturing her third straight Division 4 state title and maybe a fourth trip to the Foot Locker National Championships.
Mirroring the boys' returners, the girls' 1600m state champion from this past season is the second fastest returner for cross country. Braelyn Combe will look to use her 4:35.64 speed in the 1600m to reach another national cross country championship. ...
