If there were any doubts about Arcadia's place in high school track and field, this weekend erased them. Records fell, stars emerged, and the nation's best delivered unforgettable performances that turned a loaded meet into something truly historic.
Jackson Spencer Shatters 3200m Record
For years, the boys' 3200m has been the main event at the Arcadia Invitational, and after many fans felt underwhelmed by last year's race, the boys this year were determined to bring the mystique back. Jackson Spencer from Herriman (UT) took it upon himself to do exactly that with the help of Belen Jesuit's (FL) Marcelo Mantecon, who pushed him to the limit.
Spencer closed in 56 seconds to shatter the meet record and run the fastest 3200m in high school history, 8:31.50. He led 29 boys in the invitational race under the 9-minute barrier and was 1 of 55 boys who broke 9 minutes at Arcadia this year.
Union Catholic 1600m SMR National Record
After barely missing the national record at 2025's edition of the Arcadia Invitational, Union Catholic returned two girls to tackle the 1600m sprint medley relay record again. The team of Sydney Chadwick, Abriyah Thompson, Abigail Robisky, and Paige Sheppard ran 3:47.35, breaking the national record by 0.30 seconds.
When Robilsky received the baton for the 400m leg, she already had a 2-second lead, requiring her and Sheppard to chase the record solo. The freshman Robilsky remained poised by running a 53.83 split, and Sheppard was magnificent as always to finish in 2:04.
Since none of these girls are seniors, they could all return to Arcadia and potentially break their national record in 2027, further cementing their place in the "Home of the National Records."
Rosary #2 All-Time 4x100m Relay
On Saturday, all eyes were on the Rosary girls after they ran a U.S. No. 1 time in the 4x200m relay the day before, and it was definitely worth the price of admission. The Royals stormed to a new personal record of 44.23 to secure the victory and move up to U.S. No.2 all-time in the 4x100m relay. In the process, they broke the meet record and helped Calabasas (CA) and Bullis (MD) run personal bests this season that rank in the current U.S. top 10.
The team of Tra'via Flournoy, Justine Wilson, Pfeiffer Lee, and Maliyah Collins also broke the California state record, set by Long Beach Poly in 2004 at 44.50. The Calabasas girls moved up to CA No. 3 all-time after running 44.53 to finish second, making this the fastest girls' 4x100m relay in California history.
Servite #4 All-Time 4x200m and 4x100m Relay
The Arcadia Invitational showed there's no sign of slowing down for Servite this 2026 season after setting the 4th fastest time in high school history in the 4x200m and 4x100m relay. The team of Jace Wells, Jorden Wells, Kamil Pelovello, and Benjamin Harris ran wild over the Arcadia Invitational to look unstoppable in each event they raced.
First, in the 4x200m, Servite ran 1:22.76, becoming the fifth high school team in history to run under 1:23 in the 4x200m. Then, in the 4x100m, they ran 39.70, going under 40 seconds for the second time this season and breaking their own California state record.
Their relay dominance carried over into their individual events, where Servite swept the 100m and 200m. Benjamin Harris secured the invitational 100m victory for the second time in his high school career. Kamil Pelovello led a Servite sweep in the boys' 200m, followed by Jorden Wells and Jace Wells.
Simon Rosselli #5 All-Time in the Discus
Simon Rosselli of Mead (WA) made it fully known what his intentions would be after his first throw when he launched the discus 225-5 feet. At that point, it was clear he was aiming to break Ryan Crouser's national record of 237-6, set back in 2011.
On Rosselli's final throw, he improved to #5 all-time on the high school discus all-time list with a throw of 225-6 to end the day. This is his second consecutive victory at the Arcadia Invitational and the second time he's leaving with a U.S. top ten all-time mark.
