After last season's exciting 800m race in the girls final at the CIF State Championships, we are looking forward to a repeat of the similar action at the end of this season.
Arguably one of the most difficult events in track and field, the 800m does not hold back for anyone and will push athletes to their limit both physically and psychologically.
Sadie Engelhardt, the reigning CIF girls champion, will be the No. 1 ranked runner heading into this season. Inside the top 10, the returning spots are divided almost evenly between the Southern Section, the San Diego Section and the Central Coast Section, which makes us wonder if this year's champion will emerge from one of these three sections, or if an outsider can manage an upset over the current listing.
