Holy smokes! This season has been full of excitement on the girls side, and we still have a full month left of racing.
This team battle between Buchanan HS and JSerra Catholic HS for California supremacy is a constant back and forth. On paper, Buchanan is better seeded in regards to 5K marks. However, the girls from JSerra Catholic have gone 2/2 this season in the meets where they face off against the girls from Buchanan HS. Even though they are not in the same division at the State meet, the merged results will provided only one overall winner.
Both Ventura HS and Santiago HS have taken big steps in regards to their team performance, each team is led by an outstanding frontrunner, Sadie Engelhardt and Rylee Blade respectively. Both of these squads will need their 2-5 runners to close the gap to their lead runners if they want to have a shot at chasing a team title.
