California has become a distance powerhouse within the last decade, and individuals from both boys and girls sides rank highly even on a national level. 

Leading the charts in a third event is someone we all know well, the junior from Ventura HS, Sadie Engelhardt. She leads the 3200m with her 9:51.49 that she ran in early March of 2023, an event that she did not run again for the remainder of the season. Her P.R is from the 2022 season with a mark of 9:50.69 so it will be interesting to see what event/s Engelhardt decides to focus on this season. Three other girls will be returning with a sub-10:00 minute mark, all three of which ran the time at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational. In the number five spot is Rylee Blade, the returning State Champion in the 3200m with a 10:02.19 best.

Over on the boys side of the 3200m, there are a total of ten boys returning with a time of 9:00 flat or faster, with five of them sitting comfortably under the 9:00 barrier. In similar fashion to the girls,...
