In running the fastest time among girls at the Clovis Invitational over the past decade, Buchanan's Corie Smith got a tremendous push until almost the very end by Vista del Lago's Alexander Klos. Only a mis-step by Klos in the final sprint to the end prevented what very well could have been a photo finish. Still, Klos's time tied for the second-fastest at the meet since 2013.
