All year runners across California are planning to have their best race of the season at CIF State XC Championships, so we compiled a list of some who did precisely that based on their results from last season. We compared last season's results to examine who has improved the most.
Edwin Gomez from Belmont is the most improved runner, with a time improvement of 3 minutes and 23 seconds compared to the 2024 State Championships. He impressively improved from finishing 199th in over 20 minutes to 114th in 16:59.
Gunner Silva has the most impactful improvement, who went from 82nd last year to 2nd this year in the Division 4 championship. To cap off a fantastic season, Silva ran 1 minute and 28 seconds to run 15:10.
