Each year, the ASCIS Clovis XC Invitational previews the CIF State XC Championships with most of the best runners in the state competing.This year, various runners hoped to set a personal course record on the historic Woodward Park course, giving them the confidence needed this November at the state meet. The most improved runner was Edwin Velasquez Gonzalez of Contreras, who improved by an extraordinarily 4 minutes and 47 seconds to run 17:10. This is Edwin's first time breaking the 18-minute barrier in his career which is perfect timing as the post season approaches.
