The Woodbridge Cross Country Classic isn't just about the sweepstakes winners, but it's also an opportunity for every runner who lines up at the start line to improve. Tori Rivera from Yucaipa had the most significant improvement in 2025, running 18:20 this past weekend to shave 6 minutes and 24 seconds off her time from 2024
Layla Merancio of Buchanan also had a big improvement that directly impacted the sweepstakes races. Meracino improved by 1 minute and 54 seconds to run 16:38, which led Buchanan to a 3rd place finish. These athletes are among those who proved that Woodbridge is far more than who wins the race, but it's a stepping stone for each runner's personal growth.
