The Woodbridge Cross Country Classic has long been the place where Californians set their 3 mile personal records for the year. In its 44th edition, the cross country meet featured major improvements compared to 2024. The most significant breakthrough came from William Thompson of La Serna, who PR'ed by 6 minutes and 9 seconds. Last year, Thompson ran over 21 minutes, but this year he's running 15:49 for 3 miles. Redondo Union's Matteo Sanchez had a massive improvement of 1 minute and 21 seconds to help Redondo finish as the second-best California team in the sweepstakes race. The sophomore went from running a freshman race in 2024 to finishing 15th in 2025's sweepstakes race. Both of these athletes demonstrate how these improvements at Woodbridge are helping each runner's individual and team growth.
