When we look at running events, there is often an overlap of athletes in each event. The hurdles are an excellent example of how athletes utilize their ability for different events.
Anisa Bowmen-Fontenot (San Diego HS) is ranked Top 5 in the state for both hurdles events. She's only a junior this season so expect her to be atop the charts for the next season as well.
The Top 20 girls are all within one second of Bowmen-Fontenot's best from this season. This should set the stage nicely for the CIF-State Championship prelims next week.
Over on the boys side, there are six boys total who have clocked a time under 14-seconds in the 110m hurdles. At this time, Jordan Collins (New Designs Charter Schools HS) has the leading time in the state with his 13.44 from mid-March.
