We are coming up on the start of the season and we want to keep you up to date with all the event rankings. Check out our brief summary of what's cooking in the pole vault and take a peak at the list of the top 500 returners this season.

Iliana Downing, the reigning CIF State Champ, is back this season for one more go at the crown. The University of Michigan signee claimed the title last year with a vault measuring at 13-05.00. She has a record clearance of 14 feet and leads three other San Diego Section girls also ranked in the top 10. 

Over on the boys side, the top returner from the CIF State Championships is Max McFarlane, who is looking to take over the title after tying for the runner-up spot last season. Similar to the girls, the San Diego Section has almost half of the top 10 returners across the state for this season.
