CANDIDATES
Chiara Dailey (La Jolla): A great battle in the invitational girls' mile at Arcadia makes Chiara a great contender for performer of the week. Dailey ran a PR of 4:41.92 to finish 2nd and secure the California lead in the mile. She is also currently ranked the second-fastest miler in the nation.
Morgan Herbst (Carlsbad): Not many runners in California have had a better 2025 than Morgan Herbst, which continued at the Arcadia Invitational in the 4x100m, 300m hurdles, and 4x400m. First in the 4x100m, she helped Carlsbad finish 2nd in the seeded section, moving them up to the sixth fastest in California. Then she ran the eighth fastest all-time for high schoolers in the girls 300m hurdles in 40.26 to finish 2nd in the invite. Lastly, she would split 53 seconds on the third leg of Carlsbad's 4x400m to earn second place for her team.
Anne Elise Packard (JSerra): The senior's quest to break JSerra High School's school record continued at the Arcadia Invitational with a new PR of 2:07.72 to place 4th in the invitational section. The day before, she split 2:10 to anchor JSerra's 4x800m team to win the invite section and secure the U.S. top spot at 8:53.85.
Loren Webster (Long Beach Wilson): The reigning CIF State Champion in the long jump, Loren Webster, won the Arcadia Invite with a jump of 19-10 which ranks her second best in the state. She also helped Long Beach Wilson's 4x200m team win the Arcadia Invitational 4x200m.
Aja Johnson (Notre Dame- Sherman Oaks): Two big PRs and two California No.2 marks land Aja Johnson as a Performer of the Week candidate. In the discus, Johnson threw 159-1 to win the invite, and then she achieved a personal record of 48-1 in the shot put, making her California's second-farthest thrower in this event.
