Payton Smith of La Jolla (SD) put on a show in the long sprints last Saturday at the Mt. Carmel Invitational, running the fastest times in the class in both the 200m and 400m.

Her 200m time is an all-conditions state leader overall, and her 400m performance (race video above) ranks CA No. 2 overall.

This version of the Junior Achievers series pulls from the database to provide a deeper look into outdoor performances so far this season for girls in the Class of 2024. These rankings are based on outdoor results dated between Feb. 17 and March 26 in the MileSplit database as of 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Rankings are subject to change as scattered meets from the weekend are added to the database.
