That is the number of girls who have successfully run a sub-17 minute performance on the brutal hills of Mt. SAC.
Only one girl, however, has ever run a sub-16 minute race on this course. Malibu's Claudia Lane blazed across the tape in a 15:49.00 at the Invitational in 2017; she would go on to win her second straight Foot Locker National title that year.
This season, there have been beastly times amongst the girls, and we have seen the bar for distance running elevate among the female competitors.
It should be of no surprise to see a handful of sub-17 minute performances at this year's invitational, especially if they gun the pace like they have at major invites such as Woodbridge and Clovis.
