Junior Girls 2019 XC All-MileSplitCA Team

The MileSplit California 2019 All-State Junior Girls Cross Country team is based on placement at the State Meet within the class. Additionally, results at section divisional finals and other top performances are considered for first team, second team and honorable mention placement and inclusion.

FIRST TEAM

MIA BARNETT, Village Christian (SS)



Mia's time of 17:58.30 placed second in Division V and ranked 10th in the class of 2021 at the State Meet. Won her third consecutive Southern Section Division 5 title, running the No. 10 time in the class at the meet. She also won the 5K race at Foot Locker West and qualified to compete at Foot Locker National Championships. 


MADISON KACKLEY, Gregori (SJ)



Maddie's time of 17:44.70 placed fifth in Division I and ranked fourth in the class of 2021 at the State Meet. Won the Division I title at the Sac-Joaquin Section Finals. Her time there of 18:27.90 ranked third in the meet merge. Ran 18:19.20 to win at Rough Rider with the top overall time regardless of class.

BELLA LONGO, Mission Vista (SD)



Bella's clocking of 17:46.80 placed third in Division III and ranked fifth in the class of 2021 at the State Meet. Won the San Diego Section D3 title with the top time in the class at the meet (17:39.90) and the No. 3 time regardless of class. 


HARPER MCCLAIN, St. Helena High (NC)



Harper's time of 17:13.40 to win the Division V title ranked first in the class of 2021 at the State Meet. Won the NCS Division 5 title and had the top overall time (17:03.70) in the merge. Ran the top times in the class at both Woodbridge (16:23.90), where she placed fourth, and at Clovis (17:10.20), where she placed third. Her time at Woodbridge ranks U.S. No. 1 in the class for 3 miles and U.S. No. 8 regardless of class. Ran at NXN and placed 65th overall and seventh among CA girls.


AMBER RIOS, Colony (SS)



Amber's clocking of 17:35.00 placed second in Division II and ranked third in the class of 2021 at the State meet. Runner-up in the Southern Section D2 race with the fastest time among junior girls at the section final (17:02.8), which ranked No. 2 in the overall merge. Placed 11th in the championship race but second among 2021 girls at Woodbridge. Won her race at Clovis and ranked fifth overall among junior girls. 


BROOKE SECRETO, Foothill Technology (SS)



Brooke won the Division IV title at the State Meet with a time of 17:33.40. That time was the second fastest at State among girls in the class of 2021. Placed second at the Southern Section D4 race and fifth overall in the class at the meet. Ran fourth in her race and placed third in the class at Mt. SAC. 


JILL WALKER, Simi Valley High (SS)



Jill crossed the line in 17:49.20 to place seventh in Division II race at the State Meet. That time ranked sixth in the class of 2021 on the 5K Woodward Park course that day. Placed sixth in the Southern Section D2 race with the No. 2 time in the class at the meet. Had the third fastest time in the class at Woodbridge (16:49.70, which ranks U.S. No. 8 among junior girls), the No. 3 time in the class at Clovis (17:50.40) and the No. 1 time in the class at Mt. SAC (17:39.00).


SECOND TEAM 


AUDREY ALLEN, Miramonte (NC) -- Placed seventh in the Division IV race at the State Meet with the No. 15 overall time among 2021 girls. She won the D-IV title in the North Coast Section Championships with the No. 3 time in the class on the 3-mile Hayward HS course that day. Posted the No. 2 time in the class in winning her race at the Clovis Invitational.

ELIZABETH EMBERGER, Canyon Crest Academy (SD) -- Her time of 17:50.30 placed ninth in the Division I race at the State Meet. That time ranked seventh in the class of 2021 at State. Placed second in the San Diego Section D1 Final with the No. 3 time in the class at that meet.

ANGIE GUSHUE, Claremont (SS) -- Her time of 18:10.40 for 20th in the Division II race at the State Meet ranked 13th in the class on the 5K Woodward Park course at the championships. She placed 11th in the Southern Section Final but her time ranked third in the class at that meet.

FIONA HAWKINS Newbury Park (SS) -- She clocked 17:58.50 for 12th in the Division II race at the State Meet while helping her team to the title. Her time at State ranked 11th overall in the class. She was seventh in the class at the Southern Section Championships. Ran No. 4 for Newbury Park at Sections and No. 3 at both State and NXN.

SHAE HILL Granada High (NC) -- Shae's time of 18:07.30 for 18th in the Division II race at the State Meet ranked 12th in the class. She won the D-II title at the North Coast Section Championships with the No. 2 overall time in the class at that meet.

SIENA PALICKE Yorba Linda (SS) -- Siena placed fourth in the Division III race at the State Championships with a time of 17:57.30 that ranked ninth in the class of 2021 at the State Meet. Placed third in the Southern Section D3 final with the No. 9 overall time in the class. 

AUDREY SUAREZ Mayfield (SS) -- Audrey placed third in the Division IV race at the State Meet with a time of 17:53.30. That time ranked eighth in the class of 2021 at State. She won the Southern Section D4 title with the No. 4 time (17:24.70) in the class at the meet.
