CANDIDATES
Maximo Zavaleta (Martin Luther King)
At the Inland Empire Challenge, Maximo Zavaleta won his second I.E. Sweepstakes race in three years but this time in a dominant fashion. Zavaleta ran more conservative than ever to finish first with a 16-second cushion at 14:22. He also helped Martin Luther King win their 3rd straight Inland Empire Challenge team title.
Yohan Anderson (San Clemente)
We haven't mentioned Yohan Anderson much this season, but that doesn't diminish how well he's performing in his junior year. At the Orange County XC Championships he proved how great he is with a 14:10 runner-up finish on the 3-mile course. He's currently ranked the 7th fastest Californian runner this season.
Noah Sloan (Ventura)
At the Ventura County Championships, Noah Sloan ran 15:14 to win the highly competitive boys' championship race. Compared since last year, Sloan has made significant improvement from his tenth-place finish at 15:49.
Connor Bilodeau (Jesuit)
Annually, the Grizzly 3200 at Granite High School attracts the best cross country runners in Northern California to the track, and we always witness amazing performances. Connor Bilodeau led the headlines this year by winning the 3200m in 9:12.
Cooper Stream (Vacaville)
At the Rough Rider Invitational, Cooper Stream set a personal best of 15:06 at the Woodward Park course to win the large school varsity boys race. Stream finished over 10 seconds ahead to secure the championship victory at Rough Rider.
