This Week's Nominees:
Maximo Zavaleta, ML King (SS) (California): Swept the distance events at the CIF State Track And Field Championships, clocking 4:02.78 to win the 1600 and 8:52.47 to take the 3200. Won both races convincingly, topping fields of 33 and 27 runners respectively.
Karsyn Van Grouw, Buchanan (CS) (California): Won the discus at the CIF State Track And Field Championships with a throw of 202-1, topping a field of 26 competitors.
Jasir Fontenot, Mater Dei Catholic (SD) (California): The top sophomore in California in the 110m hurdles ran 13.33 to win at the CIF State Track And Field Championships, beating a field of 27 hurdlers.
Benjamin Harris , Servite (SS) (California): Posted a winning 10.14 in the 100 at the CIF State Track And Field Championships, the #2 junior time in California this season. Also placed fifth in the 200 at 20.84, making him the top junior in the state in that event as well.
Ejam Yohannes, Loyola (SS) (California): Captured the 400 title at the CIF State Track And Field Championships in 45.73, winning a loaded field of 42 runners.
