CANDIDATES

Aelo Curtis (Ventura)

Although Aelo Curtis's victory in the Bill Buettner Girls Championship race was somewhat unexpected for many, her season has been outstanding, with several Performer of the Week nominations. Her success continued at the Clovis XC Invitational, where she ran 16:44 to secure a significant win over nationally ranked runners.

Amaya Bharadwaj (Palo Alto)

The third fastest time of the meet came on Friday in the Carlo Prandini Girls Championships from Amaya Bharadwaj in 17:03. The Palo Alto senior dominated the race after the first mile to win by over ten seconds and establish herself as a premier individual runner in California.

Summer Wilson (Irvine)

The Duke commit continues her phenomenal senior season with a second-place finish in the Bill Buettner Girls Championship race on Friday in a time of 16:57. This is Wilson's first time breaking 17 minutes on a 5K cross country course, which is an 11-second improvement compared to last year.

Maya Pawlowicz (JSerra)

The lineup of top runners for the JSerra girls continued at the Clovis XC Invitational, with freshman Maya Pawlowicz leading for the first time. Pawlowicz finished with a time of 17:35, making her the fastest freshman and the 16th fastest runner of the weekend.

Brooke Lee (Archie Williams)

One of the most inspiring runs of the weekend was by Brooke Lee, who broke her personal course record from last season. Lee cut 2 minutes and 33 seconds off her previous time to finish in 17:18, earning the sixth-fastest time of the weekend. She also contributed to Archie Williams finishing third overall as a team in the Carlo Prandini Championship race.
