CANDIDATES
Braelyn Combe (Santiago)
In her season debut, Braelyn Combe establishes herself as Santiago's number one runner and the girl to be in CIF DI. Combe decisively won the PR City Invitational Elite Girls 3-mile with a 16:37. She also helped Santiago finish 2nd place overall as a team.
Aelo Curtis (Ventura)
Back-to-back XC invitational wins put Aelo Curtis back in the performer of the week nominations. Curtis ran 16:43 to dominate the field by over a minute to win the Scary Dairy Invite.
Kamilah Salim (West Torrance)
A great battle at the Dana Hills Invite helped Kamilah Salim capture a huge PR and her first big invitational win. The West Torrance junior ran 16:39 on the new 3-mile course to win the Ron Buchheim Elite Girls race.
Nadia Mejia (LB Wilson)
After a third-place team finish at the Cool Breeze Invitational, Nadia Meja leads the Long Beach Wilson girls' team to the Dana Hills Invitational team title. Mejia ran a personal record of 17:06 to finish fourth in the Rob Buchheim Elite Girls race and help LB Wilson score an impressive 51 points.
Farah Allen (Branson)
At the Lowell Invitational, Farah Allen ran 16:19 on the 2.83-mile course to win the varsity girls race. This mark is almost two minutes faster than her time last year as a sophomore when she finished 18th. Allen is clearly using the momentum of an extraordinary track season to bring her success this cross country season.
