Saturday will be the sixth running of the Flat SAC Invitational high school (middle school and club) cross country meet. This is a flat-course Sacramento-NorCal alternative to the giant SoCal mainstay meet, Mt. SAC (run on the hilly, challenge layout east of Los Angeles). High school races at Flat SAC are held on a 5K course at Gibson Ranch in Elverta north of Sacramento. From the official meet website: "Gibson Ranch is home to wide open grass areas, trails, creeks, horse pastures and dirt roads. The courses take the runner through all of them while providing spectators with great viewing opportunities."
