The MileSplitCA All-State Freshman Girls Team is a subjective team based primarily on results from the CIF-State Championships within the class, as well as contributions to top teams, and with consideration to section divisional results.

HOLLY BARKER (Laguna Hills/SS)
Placed sixth in the Division x race at State. Placed second in the class at Woodbridge and third in the Southern Section merge after placing third in the D-4 final. Broke the course record at Laguna Hills. No. 2 in the class national for 3-miles (16:27.40 at Woodbridge). (Raymond Tran photo)
SIERRA CORNETT (Buchanan/CS)
Consistent scorer on the No. 1 team in CA and the No. 3-ranked team in the U.S. Placed 22nd in the Division I championship at as the Bears' No. 5 scorer. Also ran No. 5 for Buchanan as it placed second at the RunningLane National Championship. Ran No. 4 for the Bears at both the Clovis Invitational and Central Section final. (DeAnna Turner photo)
SADIE ENGELHARDT (Ventura/SS)
No. 1 in the class at the State Meet, running 16:58.70 PR for 5K, the second-fastest time ever by a freshman girl and the No. 3 time ever in a D-II race. Placed second in D-II to Mira Costa senior Dalia Frias after placing third at the Southern Section final behind Frias and Peninsula junior Aishling Callanan. Placed second at the Eastbay West Regional and 15th in the national championship, the No. 2 freshman girl at that race. Set 3-mile PR of 15:59.90 at Cool Breeze, out-sprinting Frias to win. BRYNN GARCIA (JSerra/SS)
Ran No. 1 for Southern Section and CIF-State Division IV champions. Third-fastest 3-mile and eighth-fastest 5K in the class. Placed 15th in leading JSerra in the D-IV race at State after placing fifth in the Southern Section Final. Her 17:04.90 time for 3-miles at Woodbridge ranks No. 8 nationally in the class. ELLIANA LOMELI (Buchanan/CS)
Consistent top-three scorer for CA's No. 1 team and the third-ranked team in the U.S. No. 3 in the class at the State Meet (17:54.00), placing eighth in the Division I race. TIFFANY SAX (Newbury Park/SS)
Placed 12th in the Division I race at State with the No. 4 time in the class, 18:03.80 for the D-I runner-up team. HANNE THOMSEN (Montgomery/NC)
CIF-State and CIF-North Coast Section Division 3 champion. Unseated two-time champion Riley Chamberlain of Del Oro (SJ) in the D-III Final at State, running a 5K PR of 17:38.00. Won the NCS title in a PR for 3 miles of 17:18.50. Of the seven races in the MileSplit database, Thomsen won five and placed second at Lowell. She placed seventh in the championship race at Clovis (17:39.90) with the No. 2 time in the class (behind Sadie Engelhardt) and the No. 7 time in the merge. (DeAnna Turner photo)

Kylie Hoornaert (Prospect/CC) - Runner-up in the Division 2 race at CCS, No. 3 in the class at Clovis, 17:46.70, the third-fastest in-season 5K in the class.
Evie Marheineke (Archbishop Mitty/CC) - No. 8 in the class at State (18:21.30), third in the D-2 race at sections.
Sabrina Noriega (Dougherty Valley/NC) - Champion in Division 1 at NCS, No. 4 in the class at Woodbridge, No. 11 in the class at State.
Sophie Polay (Santa Margarita/SS) - No. 5 time in the class at the State Meet (18:11.80), placed fourth in D-3 at sections.
Emily Russo (Del Norte/SD) - Placed 19th in the Division I race at State with the No. 7 time in the class (18:17.50), placed fifth in the D-1 race at sections.
Sabrina Zanetto (St. Francis/CC) - No. 10 in the class at State (18:30.80) running No. 1 for St. Francis, placed 10th in the D-2 race at sections.
