The field is now set for Friday's final. Here are a few observations heading into the final few days before section champions are crowned.

Gilroy HS will host the CCS semifinals this Saturday which includes some of the top athletes in the entire state.

New Balance Azusa Distance Meet of Champions has a reputation for producing national distance standards that last throughout the season. 

The largest distance-only meet in the United States did not disappoint, producing several top CA marks and one national leader!

Jett Charvet (Brentwood Heritage), who won the 800m CIF-State title outdoors last June, won his second 800m indoor title this winter, running a U.S. No. 2 time Sunday at the New Balance Nationals Indoor at The Armory in New York.
