Top Returners CA Winter Championships: Boys Sprints/Hurdles

Since December 14th, 2024, athletes have been competing throughout the state to earn a golden bib, qualifying them for the California Winter Track and Field Championships. Now, only 10 days away from the Golden State's descent onto Arcadia High School for the first time in 2025, we examine the top returners from the 2024 championship.

Many of these athletes have already secured their golden bibs for the CA Winter Championships on February 8th, including Brandon Arrington of Mt. Miguel HS, who won the 150m dash last year. Chase Hansen of Oaks Christian also clinched his spot in the 300m dash after finishing second to Xai Ricks in 2024.

There are also returners, like Trajan Cephas of Norco High School, who has shown significant improvement since last season. Cephas is ranked as the 18th fastest returner in the 600m, but his time of 1:22.63 at the Eleanor Roosevelt Winter Qualifier currently leads the performance list according to Finished Result.

The final set of qualifying meets will occur on February 1st, and then all eyes will be on the 8th. See you there!
