2021 Freshman Boys MileSplitCA All-State Cross Country Team

The MileSplitCA All-State Freshman Boys team is based primarily on results from the CIF-State Championships within the class, as well as contributions to top teams, and with some consideration given to section divisional results.

FIRST TEAM


BENJAMIN BOUIE (Crystal Springs Uplands/CC)

Placed 14th in the Division V race at State while leading his team to a third-place finish. His time at State of 16:08.80 is a PR for 5K. One of two 2025 boys at CSUS among the top 22 scorers at the State Meet. Placed third in the CCS Final while running No. 1 for the team champion (15:59.70 PR for 3 miles).

ANDREW BURR (Sacramento Country Day/SJ)

Placed 13th at State in Division V with the No. 5 time in the class (16:07.90 PR for 5K). Sac-Joaquin Section Division 5 champion (16:43.10). Of his 12 races in the MileSplit database, Burr won 10 of those, including at Clovis (16:35.60) and at Woodbridge (16:03.20 PR for 3 miles).

CHASE CRESSMAN (Jesuit/SJ)



The top 2025 boy in the Division I race at the State Meet (16:28.00). He placed 92nd overall and 83rd among team-scoring runners, scoring fifth as Jesuit placed fifth as a team. No. 2 frosh at the SJS Final (16:40.00), running No. 4 as Jesuit won the team title. Ran 2-mile PR of 10:51.21 for second place at the Sierra Invite behind Andrew Burr. (James Leash photo)

BROEN HOLMAN (Sonora/SJ)




Placed eighth at the State Meet in Division IV with the fastest time in the class on the 5K Woodward Park course, 15:34.20, which ranks fourth all-time for freshman boys. A narrow runner-up at the SJS final, with the same time as senior teammate Adin Dibble. LANDON PRETRE (Menlo School/CC)

Placed 17th at the State Meet in Division IV, in 15:54.60, a PR for 5K. Placed third in the CCS Final (15:31.90), 5.10 seconds off the leader as his team placed second. Beat his brother Justin and CSPS's Benjamin Bouie to win the WBAL title. (Bib No. 1017 in Patrick Corsinita photo)

AYDON STEFANOPOULOS (Archbishop Mitty/CC)


Top 2025 boy in the Division II race at the State Meet (15:53.50 PR for 5K), placing 22nd with the No. 5 time in the class. Placed sixth in the CCS final (15:57.90 PR for 3 miles), with the No. 2 time in the class at that meet. (Bib No. 17 in Pat Rhames photo)

EYAN TURK (Woodcrest Christian/SS)


Placed eighth at the State Meet in Division V, in 15:41.50. Runner-up by 1.60 seconds at the Southern Section final.
