Athletes from California won four event titles and had 19 top-four finishes overall at the UW Indoor High School Invitational in Seattle.
Oaks Christian senior Cristian Moore won the 200 meter dash and placed second in the 60 meter dash. Clayton Valley senior Cameron Reynolds won the 400 and placed second to Moore in the 200.
Malcolm Clemons, a junior from St. Mary's College High in Berkeley and the defending CIF-State champion in the long jump, took gold in that event.
Another junior, Caleb Foster of Clovis North, won the 60 meter hurdles and placed fourth in a 200 meter leaderboard that saw CA sprinters go 1-2-3-4 including Clovis North senior Naythn Scruggs taking third. On the girls side, Queen Okoh, who helped Gardena Serra to the State team title last June before transferring to Long Beach Poly, picked up two medals. She placed second in the 60 meter dash and third in the long jump.
There were no CA event winners on the girls side but a pair of distance runners from Mission Viejo claimed silver medals: Yale-bound senior Kelli Hines in the 3K and junior Ashley Johnson in the 800 meter run. Hines also took third in the 1 mile run.
Granada Hills Charter freshman Sofia Abrego finished fourth in the 1 mile and sixth in the 3K.
