Brea Invitational Highlights

In case you've missed it this season, Kevin Ramos (Rubidoux) is the REAL DEAL.  The sophomore has been rolling all season, but he really turned on the jets Saturday at Carbon Canyon Regional Park. Ramos clocked 15:17.85 for a full 5K to win by 26 seconds over teammate Erik Gonzalez, who was the only other runner under 16 with his 15:43.50. With two more years to develop, Ramos has the look of a future state title contender! Brea's Giovanni Orellana was third in 16:01.10, helping to his team to a second-place finish as Valencia (Placentia) scored a small upset, winning 45 - 61 in combined scoring.

On the girls' side, Jacquelyn Hill (Etiwanda) won handily with a time of 19:10.71, with Ivanna Chagolla (St. Lucy's) second in 19:27.72. Chagolla was able to lead her team to the overall title, scoring 52 to defeat Foothill (Santa Ana) by 22 points.
