Weekend 5 Highlights: Palos Verdes, Stanford, Central Park, & More!

Scott Bauhs Invitational Highlights

It might seem like all the top Bay Area talent raced at Stanford, but that's not the case: several top individuals and a handful of strong teams opted for this one, instead.  Hosted by San Ramon Valley on the 2.95-Mile course at Shadow Cliffs Regional Park, the Scott Bauhs Invitational produced several top-notch performances. Cassy Haskell (Miramonte) posted the fastest girls time, clocking 17:12.90 to win by 15 seconds over Kinga Bihari (Granada). Elena Kamas (Homestead) finished 3rd in 17:37.80, but she led her team to the overall title by a score of 46 - 55 over Granada. Rylee Bowen (Sonoma Academy) finished 4th in a star-studded meet for female runners.

The boys' races didn't produce quite that level of performance, but the competition was outstanding nonetheless. John Bennett (Granada) had the top time with his 15:32.30, and then the next three runners were separated by only 4 seconds: Jonathan Fierro (Miramonte) finished in 15:37, and Lucas Strand (Livermore) held off Ryan Ma (Homestead) for 3rd place.  Granada claimed a dominating win in overall team scoring, defeating Amador Valley 34 - 89 with Homestead at 93.
