41st Annual Woodbridge Cross Country Classic 2022

The fastest race on California soil once again featured a selection of America's brightest talents on Friday.

MileSplit caught up with Newbury Park (SS) senior Aaron Sahlman at an August workout in advance of the 2022 high school cross country season. Sahlman is among the nation's elite returners on the defending national championship team. We spoke with Sahlman a few days before school started and a day before he and his family were scheduled to transport older brother Colin to college at Northern Arizona University. 

Athletes and teams from multiple states are scheduled to take the line at the annual cross country showcase, this year moving back to Great Park in Irvine.

We caught up with Aaron Sahlman, one of the top cross country runners in the U.S., to chat goals, coaching change, and more.
