Last weekend, the 2025 CIF Central Coast Section XC Championships took place at the historic Crystal Springs XC course. We saw champions crowned, tickets punched for the CIF State XC Meet, and various personal course records set from the previous year.
Alijah Murillo of Branham was one of the only boys to break 15 minutes this year, which resulted in an 11-second improvement compared to last year's championship.
Michael Cardoza Amaya improved by an outstanding 4 minutes and 1 second last weekend, running 19:39. He also made a significant leap in his finishing place from last year, from 121st to 80th in the Division 5 Championship race.
Stephen Sziebert is another huge improver who was 43 seconds faster than last season to capture the Division 1 CCS Section Championships individual title. This individual win will be great momentum for the CIF State XC Championship in the next two weeks
