POLL Boys Track and Field Performer of the Week

Congratulations to Parker Long of Piedmont (NC) last week's top vote-getter for MileSplit Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Parker, a senior, was a late addition to the elite 800m "Sombrero" field at the Dublin Distance Fiesta but that didn't stop him from emerging from the pack late to win the two-lap race in 1:53.25, the second-fastest 800m in the state this season (at the time; now No. 8).

Parker received 49 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Ethan Miller, a senior at Monte Vista (NC), received 34 percent, and Davis Davis-Lyric, a senior from Upland (SS), received 14 percent of the vote.

Congratulations to all athletes whose performances warrant consideration in this weekly poll. And thanks to everyone who voted to support these amazing athletes.

Who's next?

This week, we have a strong mix of eight outstanding outdoor performances from which you may choose. No easy selections, as is always the case in the ultra-competitive Golden State.

Check out the resumes below and then make sure to vote in the FanPower module at the bottom of the page. That is where you decide the top boys track and field athlete of the week.

As always, voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
