Meet Record - Alyssa Brewer (California/NC) 2:08.99 ('18)


Stanford-bound Cate Peters of Monte Vista is by far the class in this field. She won the Mt. SAC Invitational last year (photo above) with the second fastest 800m time in California at 2:06.89. That time only trailed only Ventura's super freshman Sadie Engelhardt who had a best of 2:05.66. Peters will be aiming to break Alyssa Brewer's meet record and should have a fast pace set for her in pursuit of the 2018 mark.

There should be a nice gap to second place and that should include College Park senior Jessica Chisar, Prospect sophomore Kylie Hoornaert and Emma Gardner of Tamalpais.

Meet Record - Yutaka Roberts (El Camino/CC) 1:52.34 ('22)



Menlo senior Justin Pretre led his teammates to a second-place finish at the 2022 state cross country Division V final with a 2nd place individual finish. He has already had an impressive start to the track and field season that includes a 1500m victory at the Winter Championship with an impressive 3:54.37. He has the fastest 800m time in this field with his 1:54.26 from last year's Stanford Invitational. 

His main competition should come from St. Mary's (NC) senior Mateo Malko-Allen who recorded his PR of 1:54.49 at last year's DDF as he finished in 2nd place behind the meet record of Yutaka Roberts. A wild card in this field is Dougherty Valley's Shane Badcock. He had his best cross country season to date and last year recorded his PR of 1:54.91 at the CA State Meet.
