MILESPLIT CA BOYS PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Khaliq Muhammad's performance in the pole vault at the West Coast Relays - the best in the U.S. by a boy in the Class of 2025 - earned him MileSplitCA Boys Track and Field Performer of the Week honors. (DeAnna Turner photo)
Khaliq Muhammad, a freshman from Dublin (NC), cleared 15-4 in the pole vault at the West Coast Relays on April 1, the best mark in the country by a freshman.
For that performance, you voted Muhammad as the MileSplitCA Boys Track and Field Performer of the Week for the week ending April 1 (no foolin'!).
Muhammad received 63.75 percent of nearly 6K votes in a statewide poll. Jeremiah Walker, a senior at Central (CS), was second in the voting, receiving 34.31 percent of the vote.
Each week we will put seven top performers from the past week on the line and let you choose the top CA Track and Field Performer of the Week. Because of all the HUGE performances last week, primarily at Arcadia, we have increased this week's candidate list to 10 and included only performances from that stellar showcase.
(Note that rankings are based on results in the MileSplit database as of Monday morning and are subject to change as more results are loaded into the database.)
Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
