Ta'Ahjah Fann, a junior at Golden Valley (SS), placed third in the 60 meters in 7.60 at the MVP Vibe Fest indoor meet in Chicago. That time was 0.01 faster than what she ran outdoors to win the 60m dash title at the CA Winter Championships meet in late January.
In recognition of her efforts, you voted Fann as the MileSplitCA Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week for the week ending Feb. 19.
Fann received 71.58 percent of more than 12,500 votes in a statewide poll. Emma Hadley, a senior at Anaheim Canyon (SS), was second in the voting, receiving 27.07 percent of the vote.
Fann is the second Golden Valley girl to win in as many weeks. Classmate Adonijah Currie was last week's Performer of the Week poll winner.
Each week we will again put seven top performers from the past week on the line and let you choose the top CA Track and Field Performer of the Week.
Please note that selections are made Monday and rankings are subject to change. Rankings are based on results in the MileSplit database at the time the article is posted.
Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
