Arroyo HS senior Noah Hibbard pulled off a rare feat on March 23, 2019 when he beat Newbury Park junior Nico Young at the wire in the Jim Ryun Invitational Mile at the Distance Meet of Champions held at Azusa Pacific University.
This appears to be the only race Young did not win during the calendar year of 2019. He would go on to win the 3200m title at the State Track Championships and then blow everyone away in record fashion on his way to Section, State and NKN titles in cross country.
That makes Hibbard's performance all the more special.
