BOYS

1. Great Oak (SS) -- With their top-ranked 'B' team on hand, they captured the Southwestern League meet with all five scorers being underclassmen.   Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

2. Dublin (NC) -- Did not compete last week.

3. Bellarmine Prep (CCS) -- Did not compete last week.  Have we mentioned that they boast over 200 boys in their program?!?!   Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

4. Clovis North (CS) -- Did not compete last week.  They host their own Twilight Invite this Friday.

5. Jesuit (SJ) -- Great team victory to capture the Bella Vista Bronco Invite over Central Catholic.

6. Crescenta Valley (SS) -- They move us a spot here with their victory over Burbank in the Pacific League Meet.  With their 39-48 victory, they would have beat them 25-31 in a dual meet.   Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

7. Eleanor Roosevelt (SS) -- Impressed us with their fortitude in defeating league foe, ML King, despite sitting out four of their top seven, including their no. 3 and no. 5.  Several JV runners stepped up for their best races of their season.   Riverside Invite this weekend.

8. Burbank (SS) -- They were unable to match Crescenta Valley's team effort in a 39-48 defeat in the talented Pacific League showdown.  (Not much separates the squads in the Division 1 race for those last six spots to the State Meet next month.)    Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

9. La Serna (SS) -- Solid team effort in their victory over a talented California crew in last week's Del Rio League Meet.  A mere 14-second scoring gap offset California's ability to go 1-2 up top.   Riverside Invite this weekend.

10. Long Beach Poly (SS) -- Ronan McMahon Staggs led his team with the fastest time at last weekend's Dos Pueblos Invite.  Mt. SAC Individual Sweeps this weekend.

10t. California (SS) -- Unable to match La Serna's packed punch of a group at the Del Rio League meet, but still impressive to warrant some mention within our top 10!   Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

Others: Amador Valley (NC), Arcadia (SS), Clovis West (CS), Davis (SJ), Mira Costa (SS), Torrey Pines (SD), Vista Murrieta (SS)

GIRLS

1. Great Oak (SS) --  Resting out their varsity group, their 'JV ' girls held on for the victory over one of relatively short-handed Vista Murrieta group.   In only her second race of the season, Arianna Griffiths is ready for November with her 26-second victory.    Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

2. Buchanan (CS) --  Commanding victory over everybody at the Bella Vista Bronco Invite last weekend with Corie Smith winning by over 72 seconds and their rest of the scorers coming in under 18 seconds apart!

3. Saugus (SS) -- Looked strong at the Santa Clarita Invite last weekend; the first race for Julia Pearson in almost two months.  Fell a little further back from Buchanan these last two weeks though.  Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

4. Canyon Crest Academy (SD) -- Rested out their top two at the 2.15-mile course at the Mt. Carmel Octoberfest.   Mt. SAC Team Sweeps this weekend.

5. Vista Murrieta (SS) -- Did not run a full varsity squad in last week's Southwestern League; but, you can feel it all coming together for another successful November run.    Riverside Invite this weekend.

6. Mira Costa (SS) -- Relatively easy victory at the BayLeague Meet last week while Dalia Frias continues to roll.   In regular varsity race at Mt. SAC this weekend.

7. Oak Ridge (SJ) --  Did not race last week.

8. Quartz Hill (SS) -- Looking forward to seeing them up close after their performance at Clovis.  Riverside Invite this weekend.

9. Ayala (SS) -- Performed well (fourth place) up in a mud bowl of a race at the Warner Pacific Invite in Portland.   Riverside Invite this weekend.

10. Yucaipa (SS) -- Dominated at the Citrus Belt League Meet last week and not too far back from Ayala.

Others: Clovis West (CS), Granada Hills (LA), La Serna (SS), San Clemente (SS), West Ranch (SS)
