Team unity was a staple of the Academy of Art University women's cross country squad in its 2010 campaign. So when ART U snatched a 3rd place finish at the Pacific West Conference Championships, it was due to hard work from every Urban Knight throughout the season. Following a Pacific West Conference Championship run in 2009, Academy of Art University men's cross country had a lot to live up to in 2010. Though the title was not won by the Urban Knights on this occasion, first place finishes, personal records, and continued evolution of the ART U program all composed a memorable season. Junior Cassandra Schumacher led by example at the 2010 Pacific West Conference Cross Country Championships and earned an All-PacWest Second Team honor for her efforts. After the completion of a successful second year of sports for the program, the Urban Knights are excelling in the classroom, as well as on the courts and fields. At one point in the year, it looked as if the Academy of Art University women’s cross country team might not qualify for the Pacific West Championships, but the Urban Knights left their doubters in the dust.
