Jacob Thomson, senior at Holy Cross in Louisville finished 4th overall in the Arcadia Invitational 3200m Run with a KY All-Time #2 8:48.73. He is a multi-time Kentucky State Champion in track and XC. He has earned All-American honors as well in XC and was the New Balance Outdoor Nationals 5000m Run Runner-Up last year.
Every season many Utah athletes travel to Southern California for the Arcadia Invitational seeking personal bests and all time state bests. In two events they did just that. The most impressive performances of the meet came in the 3200m and the 4x400m.

On Saturday at the Arcadia Invitational, Ben used a 55 second last lap to dominate a stacked field, and in the process broke the state record that had been held by Puskedra. Saarel is now officially the fastest distance runner to ever step foot on the track in high school in Utah.
It was another successful trip to Arcadia for the girls of Utah. Winning countless heats and a few overall events, the girls really proved that they can run with the best of any state. None of the Utah athletes impressed more than Shay Martinez. She won both the 1600m and the 800m and led her fellow Utahns to a great weekend.

Well it’s here, the Arcadia Invitational. For years now, the Arcadia Invitational in Southern California has been the place where Utah athletes and runners across the country go to set records. From personal records, all time state leaders, and National records, the Arcadia invitational is the place to be. This year will be no different. With over 70 of the top athletes from Utah making the trip down to the Los Angeles, it should be a great weekend for the local athletes.
