This Week's Nominees:
Chiara Dailey, La Jolla (SD) (California): Won the 3200m at the CIF State Track and Field Championships in 10:01.91, leading a field of 24 runners. Also placed second in the 1600m with a time of 4:38.82.
Braelyn Combe, Santiago Corona (SS) (California): Swept the middle distance events at the CIF State Track and Field Championships, clocking 4:35.59 to win the 1600m and 2:05.13 to take the 800m title. Beat state #2-ranked Chiara Dailey in the 1600m.
Lorrin Hervey, St. Bernard (SS) (California): Captured the 100m hurdles title at the CIF State Track and Field Championships in 13.29, winning by a clear margin in a field of 28. Also competed in the 100m dash, placing ninth overall.
Malia Rainey, Calabasas (SS) (California): The top junior sprinter in California turned in an 11.38 victory in the 100m at the CIF State Track and Field Championships. Also competed in the 200m, where she ranks third among state juniors.
Clara Adams, Wilson - Long Beach (SS) (California): Dominated the sprint events at the CIF State Track and Field Championships with victories in both the 200m (23.40) and 400m (52.28). The junior ranks first in California among her class in both events.
