It's no secret that the main event of the Arcadia Invitational is the boys' and girls' 3200m races on Saturday night. Now the entire invitational is much bigger than 8 laps around the track; when the boys line up five sub-4 minute milers, and the girls are going for a 2-mile national record, they get the attention, rightfully so.
With that said, it's perfect timing to look at the 3200m rankings in California so far. Five girls have already broken the 10:30 mark, and several more will be looking to join them this Saturday night.
Holly Barker placed 2nd last year in the invitational section to run her PR of 10:02. We caught up with Barker after her 3200m opener at The Redondo Invitational, where she 10:21 to win a competitive race against Abigail Errington.
