Every week, we will bring you members of the freshman and/or the sophomore classes who are having good seasons who we believe might become leaders or stars in the sport
In this edition of California's Future Stars, let's take a look at the Jesuit sophomore who is dominating the 800m in NorCal at the moment.
Like our girl's future star, Lucas Alberts consistently scored number 5 for the Jesuit last cross country season. He helped Jesuit win the DII CIF Cross Country Championships last fall.
Alberts started off his season strong with an 800m PR and win at the 1:52.58 at the Bronco Roundup Distance Carnival. He backed up that excellent opener with an 800m win at the Dublin Distance Fiesta.
Currently, Alberts is the third-ranked sophomore in the nation and the top-ranked sophomore in California.
This will surely translate into great success in the CIF post-season because the quality of the wins to start the season in the 800m are more than legit. Continue to keep your eyes on Lucas Alberts in a California 800m scene that heated up last week with potential sub 1:50 runners.
