Every week, we will bring you members of the freshman and/or the sophomore classes who are having good seasons who we believe might become leaders or stars in the sport
In this edition of California's Future Stars, we'll be taking a look at the glue that held Trabuco Hills High School together to win the D1 Girls CIF Cross Country Team Championship last fall.
In the fall, Evangeline Williams was the only freshman among Trabuco Hills' top seven and consistently secured that crucial number 5 scoring spot. Now, she's performing like a number one at the Adidas Meet of Champions HS Distance Classic, where she won the girls 3200m invitational.
Williams ran 10:44.27, making her the California freshman leader and the third fastest freshman in the nation. This personal record also makes her competitive in any 3200m when it comes to the post season, especially if she consistently runs these times week after week.
We will see how Williams responds at the TEN High School Invitational this Saturday, LIVE on FloTrack. She's competing in the invitational 1600m against some of the best milers in Southern California.
