Get ready to cast your vote for the California Performer of the Week!
We had plenty of exciting invitationals across the state, ranging from the 3-mile distance up to the 5K. Take a look at some of the key performances from this weekend!
Boys CA Performer of the Week
Trey Caldwell - De La Salle HS (NCS) - Made the trip down from the North Coast Section, and he was the only sub-15:00 minute performer at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. Breaking in the newly minted 3-mile course at Mt. SAC, Caldwell took the win by over fifteen seconds in the Boys Div. 1 & Div. 2 Team Sweepstakes race, leading his team to a Top 10 finish.
Aydon Stefanopoulos - Los Gatos HS (CCS) - In the rarely run two-mile cross country races, Stefanopoulos clocked a fast 9:03.89 at the Clovis North Twilight Invitational. With his performance, he now leads the state for the cross country two-mile distance. The senior will be heading into the postseason knowing he's got good leg speed under his belt.
Luke Sanders - Buchanan HS (CS) - The senior from Buchanan HS held off a trio of runners from Jesuit HS to emerge with the win at the Flat SAC Invitational. Sanders clocked a 15:19.81 for the full 5K and was just shy of his P.R set at the ASICS Clovis XC Invitational earlier this month.
Girls CA Performer of the Week
Abigail Errington - South Pasadena HS (SS) - She was the only sub-17:00 minute performer at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. Errington ran a 16:57.00 to emerge with the victory in the Div. 3, Div. 4 & Div. 5 Team Sweepstakes race. She led her team to a Top 3 finish at the meet.
Isla Terrill - Monrovia HS (SS) - Just a freshman, but was the top finisher from her school at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. She ran an 18:00.00, finished third in the Div. 3, Div. 4 & Div. 5 Individual Sweepstakes race, and was 11th place in the merged results after the two-day meet.
Isabella Ramirez - Bullard HS (CS) - The junior ran the fastest time of the evening at the Clovis North Twilight Invitational. Her 10:36.16 placed her amongst the Top 5 quickest cross country two-mile times this season.
