POLL: CA Boys Performer of the Week (Feb. 24 - March 2)

We'll conduct a poll every week highlighting some of California's best performances.

The California Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. PST on Thursday, March 6, and the winner will be announced shortly after.

CANDIDATES

Jalen Ford (Bakersfield)At the Kern Invite,, Jalen Ford won the 100m and 200m double with times of 10.51 and 21.49. The junior from Bakersfield High School is now California's fastest runner in both events.

Quran Clayton Jr. (Oak Hills)Clayton Jr. continued his fiery start to the season with a remarkable triple win at the Saddle Up Invitational. The sophomore clocked 10.64 in the 100m, 21.97 in the 200m, and 14.09 in the 110m hurdles. He protected his California number one ranking in the hurdles while moving up to number two in the 100m.

Jack Stadlman (Temecula Valley)At the Saddle Up Invitational, Jack Stadlman ran 45.69 in the 400m, breaking the meet record previously held by Michael Norman. Staldman holds the fastest time in the nation for the outdoor 400m and has run the second-fastest high school 400m time, considering both outdoor and indoor events this season.

Mason Colwell (ML King)Colwell executed the 800m flawlessly at the Mustang Round Up, claiming California's top spot with a 1:54.88. Last year, he only competed in two 800m races before shifting his focus to the 400m to finish the season, but now he's fully committed to mid-distance events.

Addae Ma'at (Golden Valley)At the Trevor Habberstad Invitational, Addae Ma'at jumped the ninth farthest mark in the nation and set a new California leading mark in the triple jump, 47-8.7. He also jumped 22-3.75 to secure victory in the long jump.

McKay Madsen (Clovis North)Madsen is entering the 2025 season as the defending discus and shot put California State Champion, and he's starting the year as you'd expect. The senior threw 64-7.5 in the shot put and 196-6 in the discus to claim California's top spot in both events. He is also ranked U.S. number one in the discus and U.S. number two in the shot put.
