Congratulations to Brandon Gorski of Mater Dei (SS) last week's top vote-getter for MileSplit Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Brandon, a sophomore, took over the state lead in the high jump with a 6-9 personal record to win the Trinity League title for the second year in a row. That mark is tied for fourth nationally in the sophomore class.
Brandon received 64 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. McKay Madsen, a sophomore at Clovis North (CS), was second with 11 percent.
Congratulations to all athletes whose performances warrant consideration in this weekly poll. And thanks to everyone who voted to support these amazing athletes.
