Congratulations to last week's top vote-getter, Cameron Macias of Clovis West (CS)!!

Macias, a freshman, recorded the fastest time among all girls at the Dennis DeWitt Invitational at Town & Country Park in Madera, running the 3000-meter course in 10:28.50.

Macias received 73 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Louisa McNatt (McClatchy/SJ/Sr.) was second with 21 percent of the vote.

Each week we will put seven athletes on the line and leave it up to you to select the overall XC Runner of the Week. Our objective each week will be to select top performers from across the state.

This week's candidates (listed alphabetically by last name)

Rylee Blade (Santiago/SS/So.) -- Proving that she's fully recovered from an injury in the spring, Blade won the Girls Sundown Showdown elite race at the Cool Breeze Evening Invitational, covering the 3-mile layout at Pomona Fairplex in 17:13.50. 

Mackenzie Browne (JW North/SS/Sr.) -- The senior rolled to victory in The Great Cow Run, covering the 3-mile campus course at Artesia HS in 17:13.10. 

Chiara Dailey (La Jolla/SD/Fr.) -- Another girl making her high school debut, Dailey outlasted some of San Diego's elite girls to win the CCA Ravens Invitational, running the 3-mile campus course at Canyon Crest Academy in 17:07.20. 

Norah Dulaney (Davis/SJ/Sr.) -- She won the Large School Varsity Girls race at the Lagoon Valley Classic in Vacaville, running the 3-mile course in 19:13.20.

Sadie Engelhardt (Ventura/SS/So.) -- In her 2022 debut, Engelhardt cruised to victory running the 3-mile course at UC Santa Barbara in 16:57.9 to win the Gaucho XC Invitational

Lianna Guerra (Highland/CS/Sr.) -- She rolled to victory in the Varsity Girls race of the Seawolf Invitational, running 18:24.08 over the 5000-meter course at Woodward Park in Fresno.

Avery Peck (Long Beach Poly/SS/Fr.) -- She made her high school debut one to remember, winning the Varsity Girls race at the Southern California XC Opener, running the 3-mile course at Cal State Long Beach in 18:39.36.
