Alyssa Bean, a senior at Poway (SD), moved to No. 5 in the state with a wind-legal 200-meter dash time of 24.33 (1.4) and she also moved to a then-CA No. 7 time of 55.09 in the 400 meters at her league finals.
For that performance, you voted Bean as the MileSplitCA Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week for the week ending May 7.
Bean received 54.63 percent of more than 9,100 votes in a statewide poll. Aaliyah McCormick, a senior at Scripps Ranch (SD), was second in the voting, receiving 40.38 percent of the vote. (Of note, McCormick's teammate, senior pole vaulter Lexi Evans was third in the voting but the combined total was still not enough to catch Bean's impressive support.)
