FUTURE STARS Week 8 Frosh-Soph Track and Field Standouts

FUTURE STARS

* * *

This week we are focusing on the impact made to the class rankings at the Arcadia Invitational by CA athletes in the freshman and sophomore classes.

Surprise, surprise (said no one), Sadie Engelhardt again is the "Future" Stars headliner. The Ventura (SS) freshman continues to blow away observers as much as she does her competition. The clock and records appear to be no match for this absolute phenom.

On Saturday night at the 54th Arcadia Invitational, she lowered both her mile and 1600-meter (auto-timed en route) national class records with a gun-to-line four-lap sprint of 4:35.16 (4:33.29 for 1600m). Engelhardt's mile time lowered her previously-established national class record and her en route 1600m (timed by Record Timing), broke the CA record of 4:33.54 (timed en route by Finished Results) set two weeks ago by Mira Costa (SS) senior Dalia Frias

Elsewhere in the world of your average amazing Frosh/Soph track and field athletes ... here is a sampling of verified rankings changes from the Arcadia Invite with an abbreviated athlete focus section on the pages below.

NOTE: Rankings are subject to change as more meet results are added to the database in CA as well as nationally.
