In a February 26th meet that produced three 23-foot-plus long jump marks, Javon Hampton's 23-foot, 10.5-inch performance with a negligible wind (0.1) not only was the best at the Long Beach Poly TrackRabbit Invitational but one of the best marks in the U.S. so far this young season.

For that performance, you voted Hampton, a junior at Long Beach Poly (SS), as the MileSplitCA Boys Performer of the Week for the week ending Feb. 26.

Hampton received 63.73 percent of nearly 2,200 votes in a statewide poll. Mateo Malko-Allen, a junior at St. Mary's College HS (NC), was second in the voting, receiving 30.82 percent of the vote.

Each week we will put seven top performers from the past week on the line and let you choose the top CA Track and Field Performer of the Week.

Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
