Dalia Frias, a senior at Mira Costa (SS), heads into the 2022 track and field season as the top-ranked senior distance runner, ranking No. 1 for 1600 meters, No. 2 for 3200m, and No. 3 for 800m.
With a deep and versatile resume like that, it's no surprise that you voted her as the top returning senior combination-event girls track and field athlete in CA as part of our CA Girls Performer of the Week Poll series.
Frias received 55.40 percent of the vote. Alyssa Bean of Poway (SD) was second in the voting, receiving 24.88 percent of the vote.
With one more week before the official 2022 outdoor season begins, we are once again polling on your projection of a top returning combination athlete entering the outdoor season. This week we have filled all lanes of the track with nine elite options as the top returning combination-event T&F athlete in the Class of 2023.
(For consideration here, athletes had to rank at or near the top in the junior class in more than one event of the MileSplitCA database rankings based on 2021 outdoor performances. Winter 2021-22 performances were not considered.)
